While practising a particularly tricky juggling move, he accidentally taints a barrel of rum with tobacco, creating a potent and addictive brew which he coins ‘Jolly Rover’, one of the most prized substances in the Caribbean.Alas, the wealth of Jolly Rover sales only manages to fill the pockets of his uncle, and Gaius longs for action and adventure and, more importantly, the opportunity to start his own circus and follow in the footsteps of his father.It is not long before the fumbled juggling ball of opportunity raps Gaius smartly on the head yet again. While his uncle is away, a large contract for Jolly Rover arrives from Guy DeSilver, Governor of the notorious Groggy Island, with payment upfront!In a blinding flurry of optimism, Gaius pools his meagre savings with this advance and charters a ship and crew to take him to Groggy Island. Along the way he meets a colourful band of seafaring cutthroats, scallywags and rogues otherwise known as pirates.It is here we begin to follow the short and stubby tail of Gaius across three wild and untamed tropical islands, as he attempts to fulfil his dream of starting a circus, hampered only by pirates, villains, voodoo, love and considerable lack of loot.Jolly Rover is a traditional 2D point and click adventure, including casual elements, such as an integrated hint system, and task bar. You know that old chestnut. A funny, highly entertaining point and click adventure game, buy it.. Jolly Rover is that kind of game that starts off slowly, gets a lot better the further you progress into it, but never becomes truly great. However, it still holds itself well in the adventure gaming market, with lots of impressive visual detail in its backgrounds and character animations. Item interactions and puzzles are very often straight-forward and obvious, though a few are actually truly clever. There is voodoo magic that you learn throughout the game by mixing various symbols together, and is used pretty well as a puzzle mechanic without ever becoming overly complex. I enjoyed this mostly for the story and animation. While the puzzles weren't great, they never felt out-of-place or too simple, and I feel the experience as a whole made for a very solid adventure game.3 out of 5 foxes.. A fun little adventure game filled with pirates, voodoo and a shipload of dog puns. Amusing throughout, Jolly Rover offers inoffensive, yet quality humor, challenging puzzles that never cross the infuriating logic line and simply a charming experience overall.. A poor man's Monkey Island. The voice acting and animations are charming. The game is not too hard, and would be a good introduction for someone interested in point and click games. Very cute and very fun.. Secret of Monkey Island for furries.. This game offers good laughs, some clever puzzles and hell of a good time, all for a very reasonable price. Ye'd be a fool not to check this one out.I wouldn't mind a sequel, too!. This is probably the most fun point and click game I have played in awhile. It reminds me alot of the old Monkey Island series. The game is pretty short and I would recommend people getting if 1: Its on sale at a very cheap price 2: You are looking to kill some time with a point and click puzzle game. Pros*Very Likable characters*Its got alot of humor*some very nice puzzles and some unique ones iv seenthus far.*Clicking on some of the items can get you some funny commentsfrom the main character.*Nice storyCons*Very short (can finish in about 1 hour 30mins maybe less)*Very little replay value (Only for achievements you may have missed)But all in all a pretty solid game and would only recommend if its on sale for less than $5.Would click again 7.5/10. Hahaha!This game is so terrible. So terrible it's a little funny. I got it on an amazing pack for a dollar, only got the pack for the other games.Do NOT buy this!
